M3:1 Biomonitoring

My first thought was that of course Anderson Cooper was going to test high in chemicals because he travels the world because of his reporting job, but I was shocked that the kids in the video were 2,3,4 times higher in chemical exposure than their parents.

My next thought was where can I get the body burden test taken? What hospital offers it? I feel frustrated that when asked why, the answer is "we do not know yet". That is the worst answer to give when it comes to health.

Finally, my other feeling was shock (again)/typical that the federal government doesn't require manufactures to test defects of new chemicals on health before getting approved and the approval process takes as little as 90 days while it takes pharmaceutical companies years to get new drugs approved.

  1. Hey Rudi,
I was also in shock that the kids had 2-4 times the amount of chemical exposure than their parents and was wondering if it was because they're exposed to more when they go to school/playgrounds. Haha I was also wondering where I could get the body burden test done because I wonder if I'm exposed to more working at an elementary school.

  2. Hi Rudi!

I see that both you and Matt are interested in where to get the body burden test done! I am not interested lol. I feel like it would make me paranoid and/or frustrated and I am not ready to learn some potential hard truths about my body in that way. I certainly feel connected with your feelings of frustration and shock!
