M1:5 Environmental Health Home Assessment

  • In the home assessment, why did we want to know about athe age of your home?
    • I think you wanted to know about the age of the house because of lead paint
  • Why would we want to know if someone lives in the basement?
    • I honestly have no idea. homes in SF do not have a basement that I know of. I have family in Cincinnati, OH and they all have a basement so I feel like I know what a basement is. maybe for carbon dioxide poisoning?
  • Who is responsible for home-based environmental health risks?
    • I am guessing when I say that homeowners/landlords are responsible for home based environmental health risks

M1:4 List of Environmental Exposures

when we were going over the 4 quadrants of home, work, school, and community, I was surprised to find that there were so many environmentally unfriendly products in our houses or in houses in general. I always felt that my apartment was clean and organized but after the conversation in class, I am doomed. I use my microwave everyday for oatmeal, it can be dusty sometimes, some of my food has artificial food coloring, I have cleaning supplies, markers, tide, wifi, the list goes on. I do not have any additions to add to the quadrants because all I can think of and more were mentioned. I think I need to live in a bubble.
